The Challenge
Leading Lady faced a challenge in migrating their existing Magento-hosted ecommerce store to the Shopify Plus platform. The primary challenges were the migration of data, including the complex product listings and historical order data, and ensuring a seamless user experience post-migration.

What We Did
Our scope of work for Leading Lady included the following key areas:
Data Migration
We managed the migration of Leading Lady’s current sitemap, product listings, collections structure, and all historical back-end data from Magento to Shopify. This included ensuring data integrity and making use of tools to automate parts of the process to minimize disruptions.
301 Redirects
To maintain SEO rankings during migration, we performed a detailed analysis of Leading Lady’s URL structure and implemented 301 redirects to mitigate any loss of organic traffic. We used advanced tools, such as Google Webmaster Tools, to ensure all links were properly mapped and redirected.
Custom Store Development
We replicated the design of the existing Magento store in a custom theme on Shopify Plus. This involved coding out HTML, CSS, and using Shopify’s Liquid Templating Engine to recreate Leading Lady’s look and feel while enhancing the user experience across devices.
Store Set-Up & App Installation
We handled the complete setup of Leading Lady’s Shopify store, including uploading product listings, configuring collections, and integrating the checkout process with payment gateways. We also integrated essential apps to enhance site functionality, including predictive search and Google Analytics.
Quality Assurance and Mobile Responsiveness
We conducted extensive testing to ensure that the new store was mobile-responsive and compatible with all major browsers. Our quality assurance process included both developer and team-wide reviews to catch any issues before launch.
