Director of Finance (Certified Public Accountant)

As our Accountant has retired, we're looking for a Director of Finance to lead our local finance function and play a key role in scaling our operations. With a focus on bringing critical processes in-house, this role is ideal for someone with international experience, preferably in a multinational environment, who’s ready to drive improvements and take ownership of financial strategy. Responsibilities

• Full compliance with Bosnian GAAP and tax laws.
• Payroll oversight for 50+ employees.
• Manage tax on benefits, payroll deductions, and social security contributions in line with statutory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with employment tax audits and payroll-related financial reporting.
• Transition payroll compliance in-house, reducing reliance on external support.
• Also includes contractors across multiple countries.
• Fixed asset management and depreciation.
• Proactively assess financial risks and establish robust internal controls to strengthen financial governance.
• Develop and implement streamlined finance processes to ensure consistency and improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with the group finance team to ensure local procedures align with global financial standards and policies.
• Monthly financial reporting and variance analysis.
• Cost control and budgeting.Transitioning key finance functions from external advisors to internal control.
• Risk identification and process improvement.
• Assess and mitigate financial risks by establishing effective internal controls to support sound financial governance.
• Create and implement standardized finance procedures to streamline operations and boost efficiency.
• Partner with the group finance team to harmonize local financial practices with global policy frameworks.
• Managing accounts payable, intercompany billing, and cash flow.
• Manage accounts payable, ensuring prompt and accurate supplier payments.
• Validate intercompany invoices for accurate and timely submission to head office.
• Oversee banking operations, payment processing, and cash flow management to maintain liquidity and financial control.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance/Accounting + Certified Accountant License
• 5+ years of experience in finance, taxation, and payroll
• In-depth knowledge of Bosnian tax and payroll legislation
• Proven experience in multinational or international settings
• Strong communication skills in both Bosnian and English
• A hands-on, solutions-focused mindset
