The Challenge
Bloomsy Box needed a comprehensive upgrade of its digital platform to support the company’s growth and enhance the customer experience. This included migrating the current website content, back-end data, and subscription data from their existing platform to Shopify Plus and integrating with Recharge for subscription management.
The migration involved complex subscription data for thousands of active and inactive subscribers, requiring careful handling to ensure data integrity and minimal customer disruption. Another major challenge was ensuring the platform was prepared to accommodate Bloomsy Box’s expanding offerings, such as one-time purchases and the Martha Stewart collaboration, while enhancing the overall user experience with a refreshed design and seamless subscription management.

What We Did
Our scope of work for Bloomsy Box included the following key services:

Content & Data Migration
We managed the migration of Bloomsy Box’s content, including product listings, customer accounts, and historical order data, from the previous platform to Shopify Plus. This included migrating approximately 3,000 active subscribers and 5,000 inactive subscribers from the existing payment gateway, ensuring all data was properly formatted and structured for the new platform.

Recharge Integration for Subscription Management
We integrated Recharge into the Shopify Plus platform to manage subscriptions effectively. The integration involved working with the Recharge team to upload customer details, including Stripe payment information, to ensure a seamless transition. We also developed a custom 'My Account' page where customers could easily manage their subscriptions, making it possible to adjust their preferences, update payment methods, and view upcoming deliveries—all within a brand-consistent interface.

Custom Theme Development & Design Refresh
A design refresh was implemented to enhance the user experience without a full redesign. We made modifications to the user interface across several key pages, including the homepage, subscription flow, and 'How it Works' page, to better communicate Bloomsy Box’s value proposition and make navigation more intuitive. Mobile mockups were developed to ensure a responsive experience, allowing users to access and manage their subscriptions on any device.
Martha Stewart Collaboration
We worked closely with Bloomsy Box to integrate the Martha Stewart floral collection into the new site. This involved designing and developing dedicated pages to showcase the collaboration, highlighting the exclusivity and unique features of the Martha Stewart-curated bouquets. The collaboration added a new level of prestige to Bloomsy Box’s offerings, appealing to a broader audience and boosting brand visibility.
Custom Login Page for Migrated Users
Given that passwords could not be transferred from the previous platform, we developed a custom login page to facilitate a seamless transition for existing customers. This login page was designed to recognize migrated accounts and allow users to trigger an account activation email, reducing frustration and support tickets that often accompany migrations.
301 Redirects & SEO Maintenance
To maintain Bloomsy Box’s SEO rankings during the migration, we conducted an extensive analysis of existing URLs and implemented 301 redirects. This ensured that all key pages retained their search engine rankings post-migration, minimizing the risk of losing organic traffic.

This successful upgrade not only enhances the overall customer experience but also positions Bloomsy Box for sustainable growth in the competitive flower subscription market.
