The Challenge
Fuego Box sought to migrate their existing website from Cratejoy to Shopify Plus, incorporating Recharge for subscription management. The migration posed several challenges, including the need to handle complex subscription data for thousands of active subscribers, ensure the continuity of customer accounts, and maintain data integrity across both platforms.
Additionally, there was a need to update the user experience and streamline the subscription management process, while preserving the brand identity and ensuring minimal disruption to current customers.

What We Did
Our scope of work for Fuego Box included the following services:

Website Content & Subscriber Data Migration
We managed the migration of Fuego Box’s content and subscriber data from Cratejoy to Shopify Plus and Recharge. This involved exporting all active subscriber data, including back-end information stored on Cratejoy, and mapping it to be compatible with Shopify and Recharge. We worked closely with the Recharge team to successfully upload customer details into both platforms and ensured that historical data could be accessed in the Shopify store’s backend.

Custom Theme Selection & Setup
To provide a fresh user experience, we worked with Fuego Box to select a theme that aligned with their brand. We customized the theme to create an easy-to-navigate user experience that maintains Fuego Box’s unique branding. This customization included setting up the store’s product listings, configuring product tagging for SEO, and integrating their branding assets into the new theme.

301 Redirects & SEO Maintenance
During the migration, maintaining SEO rankings was a priority. We conducted a detailed analysis of the existing URL structure and implemented 301 redirects to minimize SEO degradation. Using tools like Google Webmaster Tools and SEO Powersuite, we ensured that all essential pages and product links were redirected accurately.
Recharge Integration & Subscription Dashboard Customization
We integrated Recharge into the Shopify platform to manage Fuego Box’s subscription offerings. This integration provided enhanced control over customer subscriptions, including features for managing recurring orders, billing cycles, and customer preferences. We also customized the “My Account” page to give users transparency and control over their subscriptions, styled in line with Fuego Box’s brand identity.
Email Automation & Integration
We set up email automation for various customer journeys, including welcome flows, renewal reminders, and abandoned cart sequences. By integrating Mailchimp and Recharge, we provided a cohesive communication strategy that ensured Fuego Box customers received timely and relevant updates about their subscriptions.
Quality Assurance & Mobile Optimization
Extensive testing was conducted to ensure the new website was mobile-responsive and compatible across all major browsers. We worked through multiple rounds of quality assurance, including developer and dedicated QA team testing, to ensure a smooth user experience across devices.
