The Challenge

Natura Brasil faced the challenge of upgrading their ecommerce platform to improve user experience, streamline operational efficiency, and support the growth of their online presence in the United States market. Specifically, they needed to integrate their Shopify site with an external Data Lake to enhance data management and provide better insights into customer behavior, order histories, and inventory.

Additionally, Natura Brasil sought ongoing support for conversion rate optimization (CRO), marketing, and website maintenance to ensure their digital operations could scale alongside their expanding customer base.

What We Did

Our scope of work for Natura Brasil included the following key services:

API Integration and Data Lake Connectivity

We developed an API integration between Natura Brasil’s Shopify website and an external Data Lake. This integration involved connecting the Orders, Products, and Customer API endpoints, allowing for seamless data transfer to support analytics and reporting. This connectivity provided Natura Brasil with greater visibility into customer purchase patterns, product performance, and other key metrics to enhance their decision-making process. We also executed a one-time historical data push to bring legacy data into the Data Lake, providing a complete view of past transactions and customer information.

Monthly Support Retainer for Development and CRO

We engaged in a long-term partnership with Natura Brasil to provide monthly support services. This included web development, user interface improvements, bug fixes, theme updates, and custom functionality enhancements. We also incorporated Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) initiatives, including implementing heatmapping to track user interactions, identifying barriers in the customer journey, and making data-driven adjustments to improve visitor retention and boost conversions.

Design and Marketing Collaboration

Our collaboration with Natura Brasil also involved providing strategic marketing support, such as improving website sections with low engagement, redesigning the checkout flow to reduce cart abandonment, and setting up A/B tests to validate hypotheses around user behavior. This included analyzing mobile versus desktop performance to better understand customer interaction across devices, and providing detailed insights into abandoned cart behavior.

Ongoing Communication and Agile Development

Throughout our partnership, we maintained clear and consistent communication with Natura Brasil’s team. We employed an agile approach to development, prioritizing tasks based on their impact and aligning our work with Natura’s evolving needs. This included biweekly sprints for feature updates, ongoing performance monitoring, and responsive adjustments to ensure the website was continually optimized to meet customer expectations.
