The Challenge
GHOST sought to migrate their ecommerce platform to Shopify Plus to enhance their digital presence, streamline backend processes, and provide a more engaging user experience. The migration presented several key challenges: transferring extensive product listings, content, and historical data; preserving SEO rankings during migration; and integrating a custom loyalty program.
Additionally, the new website needed to maintain GHOSTās distinctive brand identity while incorporating a streamlined purchasing process for their expanding product line.

What We Did
Our scope of work for GHOST included the following key services:
Migration and 301 Redirects
We managed the full migration of GHOSTās content, including their sitemap, product listings, blogs, and historical data, to Shopify Plus. Loyalty program data was handled separately by Swell. To protect SEO performance during the transition, we implemented a comprehensive 301 redirect strategy using Google Webmaster Tools, SEO Powersuite, and Shopifyās Transportr app. All legacy URLs were properly redirected to preserve rankings and search visibility.
Custom Theme Development
We translated the design source files provided by GHOSTās external design team into a fully custom Shopify Plus theme. This included building the homepage, product listing pages, ambassador profile pages, and lifestyle sections. The theme was developed using Shopifyās Liquid templating language, ensuring mobile responsiveness, cross-browser compatibility, and a cohesive brand experience aligned with GHOSTās energetic aesthetic.
Loyalty Program Integration
While Swell managed the backend functionality of the loyalty program, we developed the complete user interface for the rewards account section. This included recreating the loyalty dashboard to ensure a seamless and on-brand customer experience within the new Shopify Plus environment.
Store Setup and Backend Optimization
We configured GHOSTās Shopify Plus store, imported product SKUs, and built optimized product and collection page templates. We set up checkout flows, integrated payment gateways, connected shipping carriers for real-time delivery estimates, and implemented automated tax calculations via Avalara. Additionally, we integrated NetSuite through Celigo for inventory and financial synchronization, Shippo for shipping optimization, and Zendesk for customer support operations, creating a fully connected ecommerce ecosystem.
