The Challenge

Kitchen Center stod over for udfordringen med at migrere deres eksisterende e-handelsplatform fra Spree Commerce til Shopify Plus. Migrationen var kompleks og indebar behovet for at overføre betydelige mængder af kundedata, herunder cirka 500 produkt-SKU'er, 8.000 kundekonti og et stort antal historiske blogindlæg.

Moreover, Kitchen Center needed a comprehensive redesign of their website, complete with improved navigation, SEO enhancements, and mobile responsiveness, while ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations and maintaining SEO integrity. Another critical challenge was optimizing the checkout process to accommodate the unique tax regulations (RUT) in Chile, as well as implementing custom functionalities for delivery and in-store pickup options across multiple regions.

Moreover, Kitchen Center needed a comprehensive redesign of their website, complete with improved navigation, SEO enhancements, and mobile responsiveness, while ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations and maintaining SEO integrity. What We Did

Content & Data Migration

We managed the migration of content and data from Spree Commerce to Shopify Plus, ensuring the successful transfer of the entire sitemap, including product listings, customer accounts, and historical blog posts. We allocated significant time to ensure data integrity throughout the process, with additional attention paid to the recreation of key landing pages for real estate partners.

Custom Theme Development

We developed a custom theme on the Shopify Plus platform that captured Kitchen Center’s brand identity. The design included both desktop and mobile mockups, ensuring a consistent user experience across all devices. Our design process incorporated two revision rounds to align closely with Kitchen Center’s brand vision.

301 Redirects & SEO Preservation

To preserve SEO rankings, we conducted an initial SEO audit and mapped existing URLs to ensure all essential pages were properly redirected. Using tools like Google Webmaster Tools, SEO Powersuite, and Shopify Apps, we worked to mitigate any potential SEO degradation and ensured that Kitchen Center’s organic traffic remained stable post-migration.

Navigation & User Experience Improvements

We redesigned the site’s navigation to make it more intuitive, optimizing it for both desktop and mobile users. This included the development of a new navigation layout, making it easier for customers to explore product categories and access key pages.

Advanced Checkout Customization

We implemented custom checkout functionality to accommodate Chile’s RUT tax requirements, ensuring accurate tax calculations and preventing double taxation. Additionally, we added in-store pickup options, which involved integrating delivery lead times based on store hours and availability. We also added logic for differentiating between delivery times for various product types, such as heavy vs. lightweight items.

Ongoing Web Support

Post-launch, we provided ongoing support through a retainer agreement. This included 40 hours of monthly support for design and development needs, such as addressing bugs, theme updates, UI improvements, and integration support. The agreement ensured that Kitchen Center had access to consistent support, keeping their ecommerce operations running smoothly.
