The Challenge
Camp Wander needed to migrate their ecommerce platform from WooCommerce to Shopify Plus to modernize their online store and improve overall user experience. The migration presented several challenges, including data migration, 301 redirects to preserve SEO rankings, and creating a consistent brand experience on a new platform.
Additionally, the website required a redesign to enhance mobile responsiveness, update visual aesthetics, and ensure an easy-to-navigate interface for customers looking for wellness products.

What We Did
Our scope of work for Camp Wander included the following key services:
Data Migration and SEO Preservation
We handled the migration of all content from WooCommerce to Shopify Plus, which included product listings, category structures, blogs, and historical backend data. To minimize the impact on SEO, we performed a comprehensive analysis of the existing URL structure and implemented 301 redirects to preserve search engine rankings, using tools like Google Webmaster Tools, SEO Powersuite, and Shopify’s Transportr app.
Custom Theme Development and Redesign
We provided a complete redesign of Camp Wander’s website, focusing on a hybrid custom theme modification approach. The redesigned website included new templates for key pages such as the Home Page, Collections Page, Product Display Page, Blog Collection Page, and Recipe Page. Our team created static mock-ups, reviewed them with Camp Wander, and incorporated feedback to ensure the final product aligned with the brand’s vision. The redesigned website aimed to provide a clean, user-friendly layout that reflected the natural and holistic values of Camp Wander.
Mobile Responsiveness and Performance Optimization
We ensured that all pages were fully responsive across all devices, providing a seamless experience for users regardless of screen size. Performance optimization was a priority, including improving loading times and ensuring cross-browser compatibility. Our quality assurance testing ensured that users could access the site easily from any device, enhancing the overall shopping experience.
Store Setup and Functionality Enhancements
We set up the Shopify store by importing product SKUs, configuring collections, and organizing the store’s backend with SEO tagging for easy navigation. We also implemented customized checkout procedures, integrated major payment gateways like PayPal and Apple Pay, and connected real-time shipping estimates through carriers like UPS, USPS, and FedEx. Furthermore, we added features such as a Hello Bar to advertise promotions, automated tax calculation through Avalara, and integration with ShipStation for fulfillment.
Marketing and Email Integration
To enhance customer engagement, we integrated MailChimp into the Shopify store to facilitate automated email marketing before, during, and after the purchasing process. We also enabled promotional codes and connected social media accounts to support marketing efforts. These features were configured to align with Camp Wander’s branding guidelines and provide a cohesive customer experience.
