The Challenge

Hello Snacks required a new ecommerce website to be designed and developed on the Shopify platform. The goal was to create a site that reflected the brand’s vibrant identity and offered an engaging user experience for customers exploring their snack products.

The primary challenges included translating Hello Snacks’ branding into an interactive digital presence, ensuring smooth navigation, and building a platform that allowed for future ecommerce capabilities to be easily enabled when the brand was ready to expand into direct-to-consumer sales.

What We Did

Our scope of work for Hello Snacks included the following key services:

Custom Store Design and Development

We designed and developed a custom Shopify Plus store that captured Hello Snacks’ playful and energetic brand identity. Our talented design team created mock-ups of all main pages, including the Home Page, Product Display Pages (PDP), Collections Pages, Blog Pages, and About Us sections. The designs were reviewed in three rounds of revisions to ensure alignment with PepsiCo’s vision, with each page receiving unlimited edits within each round to perfect the brand’s visual representation.

Mobile-First User Experience

With a focus on catering to Hello Snacks’ target demographic of active, health-conscious consumers, we emphasized a mobile-first design approach. Each page was crafted to deliver a seamless mobile experience, with quick load times, easy navigation, and responsive layouts to accommodate all screen sizes. We ensured that all main pages were fully tested for mobile responsiveness and cross-browser compatibility.

Amazon Integration and Ecommerce Disabling

For the initial launch phase, we disabled direct-to-consumer ecommerce features, such as the cart and checkout, to focus on integrating Amazon as the primary sales channel. This allowed Hello Snacks to leverage existing distribution while establishing a brand presence. We synced product listings and tracked sales and inventory through the Shopify backend, allowing seamless management across sales channels.

Backend Integrations

We set up the backend of the Shopify store to accommodate future ecommerce features, including configuring the checkout process, real-time shipping estimates, and automated tax calculation. We also integrated email marketing capabilities with platforms like MailChimp and Klaviyo to set up automated messaging before, during, and after the purchasing process.

Interactive Design Features

To enhance user engagement, we implemented interactive features like a 'Get Social' page that showcased user-generated content from social media. We integrated Instagram feed capabilities that allowed users to shop directly from their favorite posts. A Hello Bar was also set up to advertise current promotions, driving further customer interaction and engagement.

Performance Optimization and Quality Assurance

Our team carried out extensive quality assurance testing to ensure the new site met PepsiCo’s standards for quality and functionality. This included rigorous testing across devices and browsers to guarantee a consistent and smooth user experience. We also provided a 60-day post-launch bug-fixing period to address any potential issues that might arise.
